Below you will find information directly in the article: the current state of the verified materials, the specific connections to Czech, German and Austrian centres, and historical dates and prices from previous seasons. Older data are explicitly indicated as indicative and do not mean that this year the connections will go the same way.
Skibuses and regional buses can make it very easy to travel to the cross-country ski resorts. It is worth planning train links across borders and counting on certain seasonal services only on weekends or in part of winter.
Czech Šumava
Zadov, Churanov and Kvilda

Ironore, Gerlova Hut and Špičák

Bayerisch Eisenstein and Bretterschachten
Simplified scheme according to the described line management and the attached archive timetables; verify specific stops and operating days in the current timetable.
For Czech trips is the main point of transfer Železná Ruda-Elizabeth / Bayerisch Eisenstein border stationOn the German side of the road Waldbahn continues towards Zwiesel and Plattling; seasonal buses provide connections to the centres. 6081 to the cable car on Arber and line 6191 via Zwiesel, Ludwigsthal, Regenhütte and Arbersee to the Bretterschachten cross-country. The 6191 line is a winter seasonal link, so it is necessary to verify its specific days and times for 2026 / 2027.

Zwieslerwaldhaus
To Skiwanderzentrum Zwieslerwaldhaus goes Ringline FalkensteinFrom here, the runners can continue on a cross-border trail through Ferdinandsthal to the Czech Republic. Specific winter connections and operating days need to be verified according to the current timetable of the region.

Finsterau
The regional bus lines of Freyung-Grafenau are leading to Finsterau. From the Czech side, the route can be planned via the border region of Bučina; part of the connections is seasonal and the summer line is not a substitute for the winter timetable. Combine the current route with the Czech route to Kvild and verify the last connection back.

Austrian Böhmerwald
Schöneben and Grünwald-Oberhaag

Public transport requires continuity planning; the scheme does not indicate a guaranteed direct line.
Nordisches Zentrum Böhmerwald has two entrances: Schöneben a Grünwald-OberhaagThe car is arriving in Schöneben from the Czech side via the border crossing Zadní Zvonková–Schöneben, which is a practical option for a trip from Lipna. At Grünwald-Oberhaag, enter directly this name as a destination and plan the arrival via Upper Austria; direct winter ski bus to the cross-country ski resort is not confirmed. Public transport is planned through regional stops OÖVV and may require a follow-up bus or a pedestrian transfer.

St. Stefan - Afiesl
For cross-country entries in St. Stefan am Walde and Afiesl, seek a specific destination in OÖVV planner. Older link PDF can only capture school or work days and do not have to match winter weekend traffic; plan arrival from the Czech side according to current links via the border area of Šumava.

Czech Šumava
Zadova's timetable was paid on 27 December 2025-15 March 2026. The Iron-Rusová ski bus was designated free of charge and the timetable was valid from 15 December 2025 to 15 March 2026.
Bavarian Lesná
The Bayerwald overview also includes the 604A winter line to Finsterau; it is a summary leaflet with main connections and links to detailed timetables. For lines 590, 6081, 6085 and 6191 check the specific operating days in PDF before travelling.
Historical terms and prices from earlier surveys
The following data are preserved as archival orientation. It is not a confirmed offer for season 2026 / 2027:
- Evening ski bus Sand - Strakonice - Vimperk - Zadov: the earlier overview was given on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 27 December 2025 to 15 March 2026; the fare was CZK 20 or was free with a ticket for evening skiing.
- South Bohemian skibuses: the previously mentioned discounts on the day-ahead ski pass were 30% in Leipzig, 20% in Kvilda and 20% in Zadova, subject to the conditions of the offer.
- Skibus Iron Ruda: The overview for the season 2024 / 2025 indicated free traffic from 15 December 2024 to 16 March 2025, first connection at 8: 00 and last arrival at 16: 45.
- Zadov - daily skibus: The archive text presented the route Vimperk - Zdíkov - Stachy - Zadov - Churáňov, the detour of selected connections to the New Dvora and New Hutí and the free shuttle service U Puchru - Kobyla. In the original text, the typo period is: the mentioned end of 16 March 2023 is preceded by the beginning of 27 December 2025, therefore it cannot be considered as a valid term.
